Gender & Sexuality Alliance (GSA)

The GSA is a student-led and student-organized club that aims to create a safe, welcoming and accepting school environment for all youth, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.  The three functions of the GSA are to: support students, build community and create change.

Activities may include:

  • Conducting restorative circles to provide peer support.
  • Working on fundraising efforts to fund pride month activities.
  • Coordinating with resources to provide educational opportunities to students.
  • Celebrating/recognizing LGBTQ days of observance.
  • Tabling for educational events throughout the school year.
  • Designing awareness displays to be shared around the building.
  • Connecting and collaborating with regional GSA groups.

The mission of the GSA is to bring awareness to issues LGBTQ youth are facing in school and in the community.  The GSA strives to make all members feel safe, supported and valued.  The GSA aims to enhance member’s self-identity, self-esteem and self-confidence.

Eligible Grade Levels: High School Grades 7-12
