At-home learning will continue for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year because of the ongoing COVID-19 public health situation. The 2020-21 budget vote and board elections will be conducted by absentee ballot only. Qualified voters must return ballots to the district by 5 p.m. on June 9.

Board of Education candidates need to submit form by May 11

The Fort Plain Central School District announces there are three anticipated vacancies for the Board of Education.

Candidates who are interested in running for the seats must obtain a form to sign and return by 5 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020. To obtain a form, contact District Clerk Rebecca Smith at 518-993-4000 #1000 or becky.smith@fortplain.org.

An Executive Order of the State of New York eliminated the need for Board of Education candidates to obtain resident signatures.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens who are residents of Fort Plain Central School District for at least 30 days prior to the vote. The terms are for three years and will begin on July 1, 2020 and end on June 30, 2023.

The terms of board members Todd McFee, Jeffrey L. Jones and David Przestrzelski will expire June 30, 2020.

The election will be on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 by absentee ballot.
