Fort Plain wins $500 grant from Walmart

The Fort Plain Central School District won a $500 grant from Walmart earlier this week.

The funds will be used by social studies teacher Katie Sacco to purchase books for a classroom resource library to help seventh-grade students become familiar with concepts in early American history, including such terms as conquistador and mercantilism.

The grant was written by Laura Whalen from Capital Region BOCES. The grant team has won over $52 million for its associated school districts.
