 Mrs. DeKalb elected NYSCEA secretary

Business and information technology teacher Kathleen DeKalb was elected to a two-year term as secretary of the Council of Educational Associations (NYSCEA) at the organization’s May meeting. NYSCEA is an umbrella organization of about 40 professional New York state educational associations consisting of teachers, nurses, administrators, and union groups that work closely with the New York State Department of Education and the Board of Regents.

NYSCEA exists to facilitate communication among its membership in order to clarify common, as well as unique, concerns; and to arrive at a consensus regarding important educational issues. Member organizations meet three times a year to share prospective on crucial educational issues and promote quality education for all NYS students.

DeKalb is past president of Business Teachers Association of NYS and served as the organization’s president from 2002-04 and from 2006-08.
