Summer Classes begin July 7

Summer classes available for Fort Plain students and those from neighboring districts

        Fort Plain Central School is hosting summer school classes for students from the district, as well as for students from the St. Johnsville, Canajoharie, and Cherry Valley – Springfield school districts.
Tentative summer hours at Harry Hoag Elementary School are July 7 to Aug. 14 Monday to Friday, 8 -11:30 a.m.
         Tentative Junior/Senior High summer school hours are July 7 to Aug. 14, Monday through Friday except Aug. 8. Classes will be taught in two periods: 8 a.m. to 9:53 p.m. or 10 a.m. to 11:53 a.m. Regents will be administered on Aug. 13 and 14. All students enrolled in summer school must take the Regents in Fort Plain. “Walk-in” Regents test- takers must register with the Fort Plain School guidance office no later than 3 p.m. July 1. A $15 testing fee will be charged for each examination.
          Projected course offerings include English 7-12; Social Studies, 7-12; Math 7-8; Algebra 1, half course; Algebra, whole course; Math B1 half course; Math B, whole course; Life Science 7; Physical Science 8; Earth Science Living Environment; Chemistry; Physics; Driver Education; and Language Development Class. Course availability is subject to change due to student enrollment and teacher availability.
          Summer school is free to all Fort Plain students. Cost for students from other districts is $90 per course plus a one-time $3 registration fee. Money orders, bank checks, or cash will be accepted. Personal checks will NOT be accepted.
           For information on courses and registration, contact your school’s guidance office.
           Free transportation to students who reside in the Fort Plain Central School District and participate in the free summer meals program will be available. Information about this transportation will be sent home with elementary school students and is available to high school students at the guidance office. Students who live outside the Fort Plain District will be responsible for their own transportation.
