Students volunteer time to help bring smiles to
local families in need
A group of 40 Fort Plain Jr./Sr. High School students, members of
the Peer Mentor and Mentees, recently came together to wrap hundreds
of presents donated to the Gram Lorraine Program.
For nearly two decades, the Gram Lorraine Program has provided
books, clothing, and toys to thousands of deserving families in the
Mohawk Valley. The Program was named for a local resident "Gram
Lorraine" who spent her life volunteering and serving her community.
Approximately 125 children were designated to receive the donated
gifts by school personnel. The families were then "adopted" for
Christmas by local sponsors, faculty, staff members and the Student
Council at Fort Plain Central School.
